Before you book
Questions We Hear at the Front Desk
Do you take walk-ins or do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome Tuesday through Saturday for cuts and styling, and we'll fit you in when a chair is open. For balayage, color, keratin, and updos, we strongly recommend booking ahead — those services take longer and fill fast, especially on wedding weekends. Call (972) 555-0134 to reserve a specific stylist and time.
How much does balayage or color cost?
Color is quoted by hair length and density during your consultation, since longer, thicker hair takes more product and time to do right. You'll get a clear price range before we begin, never a surprise at checkout. Ask for a rough estimate when you call and we'll get you close.
How far in advance should I book a bridal or event updo?
For weddings, we recommend booking six to eight weeks out so we can schedule a trial run and lock in your morning-of timeline. Prom and quinceañera season fills quickly too, so earlier is always safer. Trial runs are quoted separately from the event-day style.
How long does a keratin treatment last?
Most clients see three to five months of smoother, frizz-free hair, depending on hair type and how often you wash. Fine hair tends to hold it a shorter time than coarse hair, and we'll tell you honestly whether your hair is a good candidate before you book. Sulfate-free shampoo helps it last.
Are your stylists licensed?
Yes — every stylist and color technician at Magnolia & Main is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Our color specialists have additional training in balayage and corrective color. We're happy to match you with the stylist whose specialty fits what you need.
Do you cut kids' hair?
We do, Tuesday through Saturday, and we take our time with nervous little ones. We keep first-haircut keepsakes on hand for milestone visits and never rush a squirmy toddler. Booking ahead helps us give kids a calmer, less crowded slot.
What areas do you serve?
We're on the courthouse square at 112 S Main in downtown Waxahachie, and clients drive in from across Ellis County — Midlothian, Red Oak, Ennis, and beyond. There's public parking around the square, and we're an easy walk from the shops and cafés downtown. If you're searching for a salon near you in Ellis County, come find us on Main Street.
What happens if I don't like my color?
Tell us before you leave the chair, and we'll make it right — that's exactly why we consult and do a strand read up front. If something needs adjusting after you've lived with it a few days, call us and we'll get you back in. Honest conversation is the whole point of how we work.
How do I keep my color looking fresh between visits?
We send every color client home with a maintenance plan and a return date so your color grows out soft instead of harsh. Sulfate-free shampoo, cooler water, and a gloss refresh between full appointments go a long way. We'll recommend exactly what your specific color needs.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit and debit cards, and contactless payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay at the front desk. Gratuity can be added to card or left in cash, whichever you prefer. Gift certificates are available for any service.
